The Texas Home of Representatives on Friday unanimously handed two payments making minor adjustments to staff compensation statutes.
H.B. 3622 would preclude physicians from receiving cost for offering companies to injured staff if the doctor was suspended or faraway from the listing of accepted docs by motion of the Texas Employees Compensation Fee earlier than 2007, or if the doctor has not been reinstated or restored by the fee to the listing of accepted docs or to the employees compensation system.
H.B. 3158 would broaden entry to exemplary damages within the occasion of an worker’s work-related dying to permit restoration by a surviving partner, heirs of the worker or the property of the deceased worker within the occasion that the dying was attributable to an intentional act or omission of the employer or the employer’s gross negligence.
Each payments now transfer to the Senate for consideration. If signed into regulation, the payments would take impact Sept. 1, 2021.
